Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts allow for a very efficient workflow, so spending a little time familiarizing yourself with the defaults, or customizing them to your liking can be very rewarding investment.

The buttons in the user interface will show their shortcut if pressing the shortcut will result in the same result as pressing the button. However, the user interface only shows a limited number of buttons, while many shortcuts can be active, so a visible button is not needed for a shortcut to function.

Shortcuts are organized into categories. The active category is controlled by the type of the currently selected item and the state it is in. If a Geometry Item is selected, and the "Model" button is pressed, the active category will be "Main / Geometry Item / Model". All the shortcuts for actions in the parent categories "Main" and "Main / Geometry Item" will also be in effect.

Conflicts in shortcuts between categories are resolved so that a child category takes priority over its parent category. In the previous example the shortcuts in "Main / Geometry Item / Model" will override shortcuts in "Main" and "Main / Geometry Item", and shortcuts in "Main / Geometry Item" will override shortcuts in "Main". However you probably will not have to worry about conflicts.
